The Sky is a true sports car—very low to the ground like a Corvette, 911, Miata, S2000 etc. It’s not as easy to get in and out of as a minivan.
I’ve been impressed with the power and torque from the 2 litre engine. Corvette engines are 3X as large as you know. Power comes on in the low end and stays strong up to redline. Fuel economy is exemplary as well–25 to 33 MPG.
I recommend taking your mom to test drive one. She might be happy with the base model.
im looking at the redline model for my mom as a present…hows the view on the Sky?? is it to low like a corvette?
shes used to driving minivans and SUVs her whole life so i want something just for her

I am an owner of a 2008 RedLine model and can say that this reviewer’s complaints are off base.
The top is a breeze to put up and down 20 seconds max.
Likewise no problem with the window switches. I just use my right hand to toggle up and down.
With soft sided luggage, my wife and I have no problems with weekend trips. No you can’t go cross country in this, but that’s true of most roadsters I’ve owned including 2 Corvettes and a 911.
This is one terrific sports car.

I have a Saturn Sky Redline 5 Speed and love it! One thing I see on all the reviews is that the window buttons are in a bad place and everyone trys to operate them with their left arm. The fix seems so simple I can’t believe no one mentions it, Use your right arm! It’s not like it’s a long reach. The only thing I see a problem there is, if you have a fat gut and can’t reach across your body! And If that’s the case, you’d probably not be comfortable in the car anyway.
youre completely off. The sky is actually a rebadge of the opel GT. The Pontiac Solstice came out after the opel. From a design standpoint the two cars share the same proportions (obviously) but completely different in form language.

I drive this car.compliments daily,chicks love it. trunk space *****.handling is excellent!!(above average)traction control is great. car is quick,RWD.smooth car. sterio sound is awesome!(large factory speaker behind passenger seat,subwoofer).18″wheels(245 width)car has blind spots,recommend small stick-on mirrors on the side mirrors.notice cupholder placement in the vid,pain to get to while driving. there is a 3rd cupholder on the right of the center console.(ok)
